3/10/18 ***Begin Experiment 16/8 LCHF Day 1

First and foremost I am on 16/8 with a twist.  I take coconut for lunch.  This means I have high amount of carbs, [] grams.  I think it is fine because coconut is a superfood.

I take supplements and oils.  In addition I chew Nicorette which is Sugar Alcohol in a form of Sorbitol.

Artificial sweetener kills microbes.

At night I eat LCHF with beef patty, eggs and mixed veges.

Here is the observation:

I was slightly hungry around 1:00 pm.  By 2:00 pm I eat butter and coconut oil.  They keep [w]e satiated until I had the coconut.

After the coconut there is no cigarette pang.  I can actually skip the cigarette but I was tempted.

Remark:  This can continue.  Even the Nicorette is not necessary.  The oils tapers the insulin surge and the cigarette urge.

Come dinner time I really load on the fats.  I have coconut oil, butter, 3 beef patties and 2 eggs.  I wanted to test the 80% fat theory.  So far no heart palpitation.  This can continue too.  I was really fearful that I took too much fat.

Remark:  I think although I am not exactly on a keto diet, I am in a plan that combines 3 plans

  • 16/8 already promote the production of ketones.  I therefore incorporate fasting in my diet.
  • I still believe the coconut helps.  I don't mind eating coconut every day.  This is Primal Blueprint that propagates consuming less than 100 grams of carbs.
  • Finally at night I eat LCHF.
The plan is perfect because although I take coconut, I stay fasted in the morning.  43 grams of carbs is still OK according to Primal Blueprint.  Coconut water is 10 grams of sugar.


My trump card is the coconut.  Without it I eat junk.  I stick with the plan.

I believe once I eat LCHF I can stabilize my insulin and dopamine.  The coconut oil and butter really do wonders.
